| This was a commission for a set of ring wraith robes and gauntlets from Lord of the Rings. The robes are made of several layers of cotton and linen which amounts up to about 10m in fabric. It includes a padded hump which ties at the neck, and a the hood has a millinery wire and buckram construction inside it to make sure it hangs over the face correctly. Also included is a hood which keeps the wearers face hidden. The gauntlets are made out of over 90 pieces of thermo plastic which are set in place with hundreds of rivets. They are fully articulate and comfortable to wear. The gauntlets are dry brushed and rusted for extra effect and sealed to prevent scratches. I really like this costume and I am sad to see it go to the commissioner. I hope they like it as much as I do! | |

THAT IS ALL KINDS OF AWESOME!!!!
nice photos too
This looks FANTASTIC! So detailed and scary x3
So amazing! The details are so spot on!
I've always wanted to make a ring wrath costume, more for the fact i'd loan a black horse and ride around all day.
The ageing on the fabric looks very accurate also!
WOW looks awsome! ^^ epic (y)
I love it! Especially those gauntlets *__*
awesome
That is brilliant. Love the gauntlet.
Hey thats pretty good :P
brilliant job, love how everything is spot on, from the gauntlets, to the aging, to whatever you came up with to keep the face hidden!
Fantastic. I love your work. :)
nice one.
The Gauntlets are awesome. Are they made of Plastazote?
Nah, the gauntlets are a thermo plastic- the same stuff I used for seigfried's armour in fact. I've got some more details in the info section if you're interested.

wow the Wraith costume looks great.
Very impressive!! sceary ahh *hides*
I repeat what I said on LJ: eep!
awws. the lotrs geek in me is all a quiver.
Mangachild- Thanks for the comment on the photos! I did them myself and I think I'm more proud of them than I am of the costume >.>
Nekochan- I'm the same, after making this I wanted to wear it to expo so bad! But I had to post it off. I think it's worse when you actually had it in your hands and gave it away.
Lisu-chan- There's a mask under the hood with a vision port on it made from black buckram. It's still slightly possible to see inside, but black face paint and taking pictures so light isn't on the face makes it look fine.
