Description
After I started to play the King of Fighters games properly for the first time since I was young, I ended up talking to a lot of my cosplaying friends and as per usual, a cosplay group plan was born. The problem with KoF is that there are just so many characters to choose from, but in the end I opted to take on Chae Lim, the apprentice of Team Korea's Master Kim and one of the new characters in the 3D Maximum Impact games. I don't actually play with Chae Lim much, but I felt that her broad build, dark features and goodie two shoes, rule follower personality matched well. I researched into Taekwondo uniforms, sneakily sketching my own pattern whilst in a martial arts shop to construct the trousers. For the top, I followed a tunic pattern with set in sleeves, a feminine touch to a very masculine costume. I spent a lot of time finishing off to make the entire thing very crisp and clean and I hope this shows. The wig had silver wefts (bits stolen from another wig) sewn into the cap, and the Team Korea logos were painted on. The one big problem with this costume is an issue with the white cotton. After getting caught in the rain, I discovered that it stains with anything and everything. I want to do some more KoF cosplay, next is going to be the equally as disliked, Mignon Bert, because she's just sooooo irritating.
