Description
I made this costume to cosplay with RachelMei at Japan Expo in Paris. Ninodog had shown a large group of us websites from the newer Shining games and a few people said that I should cosplay Amitalilly, the fire mage from Shining Force EXA. I love the colour combination of black and red and upon discovering that her personality was that of an arrogant brat, I was completely sold and decided it would be really good fun! After bribing her with chocolate, RachelMei agreed to make the timid ice mage from the game, Firklin. My favourite part of this costume is the giant hat with the fat chick nested inside (whom I nicknamed Fernando - I sing ABBA to him). I had to construct a hat that was squishable so it could be transported easily and did this by using the tried and tested Halloween technique of making a rim structured with garden wire. Fernando kept trying to make a bid for freedom so was sewn into the hat for second wearings. We wore them briefly in the dealer's room at Amecon '07 on the Sunday. I have great fun wearing this costume with Rachel and once we fully complete them (neither are fully finished. I need to complete the stockings whilst Rachel wants to remake the straps and make the boots) we hope to rewear them again.
