Description
Gurumin is an adorable little game. I've never ever seen anyone cosplay from it and barely anyone seems to know about it. Parin's outfit looks relatively easy and I'll be needing a braided reddish ginger wig anyway, so why not!

It was finally finished just before Auchinawa!

The wig was quite complicated, because her braids are meant to be thick it was made up of two wigs. Shido kindly fiddled with them to make them fit right - she took the wefts from the second wig and sewed them into the first to make the braids as thick as possible rather than having a thin, limp boring wig.
The wigs were both bought from Professional Only (identical wigs) and are the most expensive part of the costume, but are such lovely quality! It looks really good but it still needs to be thicker, bwaaah.. stupid thick braids! So unrealistic XD

The lovingly termed "hair hats" were made up of three circles of fabric each, two red and one pink. They were then zigzagged on and the hair was pulled through. Over the weekend only one came off and that's cause I'd been pulling it. The ribbons were just lengths of ribbon tied around the top of the hair hats.

The coat was made from a thick curtain material, not quite sure what, but it was perfect and lovely and warm :3 the cape was made seperately and pinned to the main jacket on the day. The edging is petersham bought from Fenwicks, folded then ironed then sewed around, and the swirls on the cape are thinner petersham sewed down ^^

The skirt was £16 from New Look :p 1 size too big so it sat a little lower on my hips. Didn't need adjusting, and it looked really good! It took ages to find a decent skirt with the right pleats and colour.

The legwarmers were £6 from eBay and were really comfy for legwarmers.. and for once, not fluorescently coloured and Fameish! Fabulous.

The shoes were just shoe covers on top of my own shoes. They were made with the same material for the coat, with a white patch and then an black cross sewn on. Originally the cross was going to be made with laces, but we lost them somewhere when we were making them. -_-

The drill was expensive and difficult to make. Eventually Shido made it for me. Originally, I was making it with waste pipe, a polystyrene cone, foam and tape. Come to spraypainting and.. the cone dissolved. So that was that out of the window. It was eventually made with wonderflex, gesso, wastepipe, a plastic.. thing from a hanger thingy, some gems and glue. It looked awesome though! And if you squeezed the head just right it squeaked, lol.

I DID have headgear to wear (goggles, cat ears, headband and a helmet) but I ended up wearing either cat ears or nothing at all. The goggles look great but were bulky and looked so huge on my head, my head looked tiny (plus they were heavy). The headband was awkward to keep on, and I left the helmet at home. Hopefully I'll end up doing a proper photoshoot for this costume one day with all of her headgears, even the Samurai Helmet and the Hair Buns :p

WOO Gurumin! I'm actually replaying this game now on my train journeys, Parin is absolutely adorable (obviously Pierre is the best character) so I can't wait to see your costume.
