Personal Bio

I'm currently at university in Glasgow, where I’m studying law.

I read a lot, fail at video games but still love to play them anyway, watch anime, and have a minor addiction to Irn-Bru. Cosplay (obviously) takes up a lot of my spare time too...

Cosplay Bio

I got interested in cosplay in 2002 from seeing photos online, and at that time had no idea of the existence of conventions in the UK. After making a bunch of costumes for the hell of it, I was interested enough in conventions to finally go to one (being 16 by then also helped) so AmeCon 2004 was my first con. I think I can accurately say it’s been downhill since then, and I have far too many costumes!

I've finally had a decent look at the sales, got some new jeans and other clothes, and fabric (of course). Very pleased to get the velvet (for costume-of-the-same-name) half price. Now I have new procrastination available in the form of Minami costumes! Velvet certainly sheds like crazy though; my lint roller is getting a workout in attempt to stop red fluff taking over completely.

I had an incredibly painless call to British Airway’s customer services. It always makes me far happier than it should when ringing up one of these places actually goes smoothly…when really, that should be the norm… although I suppose that’s what to expect from Classy Airlines. Why was I phoning them? Because in the process of shifting all their flights over to Terminal 5, some of the times of the flights I’d booked had changed slightly. So I got an email explaining what my new times were for the LA trip. All of them were fine, except for the final connection to Glasgow on the way back. They’d considerately given us a nearly 7-hour layover in Heathrow 0_o There were 3 possible earlier flights, yet somehow we’d been booked on to a ludicrously late one. One simple phonecall later and I’m on a sensible flight again, no charge, no hassle. Since all my flights are now in and out of the same terminal, that’ll make the connections a bit smoother, so all is well. (well, until Terminal 5 goes insane again, they lose my luggage etc. etc., but in theory, everything looks shiny)

For anyone it may concern, the Scottish people’s AX flights are under the cut. I realise BA probably isn’t the cheapest airline for the rest of you; we chose it because it was the best way to incorporate our connections. Anyway, it’s worth letting you know the flights and times just in case you can manage the same flight as us, or happen to be able to arrive at LAX around the same time.
