Personal Bio
I'm a game designer/producer for indepedent developer Studio Trophis. As that doesn't pay the bills I'm also a self employed web developer, and I worked with Kat to build this site. I'm a keen fan of any kind of narrative medium and am rather partial to a quality vodka mixer.
Cosplay Bio
I'm not actually a cosplayer but I did do Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2 once. I'm only really here to help Kat with running technical side of the site.

All Dream Comes to an Agreement

So this week anyone who's come into contact with me will probably have already been greeted with a tale of self indulgent moaning, due to the fact that I've had to work in an office 9 to 5:30 for an entire week. Getting up at 7:30 and braving the London commute via the underground is not really my scene. I've got a pretty big client that wants to me to work at their offices for the duration of this project and it's a bit of a shock to my system.
Before any of you kick off I am fully aware that most of the people reading this either have to deal with similar or worse all year around, so I'm really not expecting any sympathy for my faux plight. Just trying to point out that it's all been very disturbing to me going back to a way of life I swore off last August.
If anything this has made me realise exactly how good I've had it. I quit my job last year on the hope freelance would pay off, secure in the knowledge I had enough cash from the Autodesk buyout to cover me until I got another job if it all went pear shaped. In fact I picked my freelance niche incredibly way and have been ridiculously lucky. Since I moved to London I've been getting up whatever time I feel like, working from the sofa while watching films and TV, and earning enough to do all the fun stuff I like such as theatre, films, gigs, etc... Basically I've been a massively jammy shit.
So going back to work for a big corporation for what is likely to be at least a 4 week engagement has reminded me exactly why I swore off office work in the first place. Sitting in a fluorescent lit meeting room crammed in with three other people in near silence most of the day, working at the whims of bizarre rules, security restrictions and a constantly changing specification is just so alien to me. Still they're paying me a sickening amount of money so I'll bear with it for a month.
You know I'm not actually writing this to piss you all off, but this is just stuff rolling around in my head at the moment and LJ is good way to get it out. Sometimes I wonder if I'm going in the right direction with my career since I'm trying to run this web business and make games in my spare time and I often think maybe I should throw it all away and join some games company but this week has reassured me my current path is not too bad.
